Adaptive Immunity

Adaptive immunity is the ability of a human body to recognize and selectively eliminate specific foreign microorganisms and molecules. It induces by the exposure of the body to microbes and foreign particles. Adaptive Immunity counters an infection with a specific immune response exactly made for the invading pathogen in the form of a large population of B and T lymphocytes that specifically recognize the invaders. This type of immunity forms the third line of the body’s defense against invading antigens.
