Lymphocytes

These are rounded cells and have a very large rounded nucleus and scanty cytoplasm. They are formed in the thymus and lymphoid tissues from precursor cells which originate from the bone marrow. They circulate continuously in the blood and lymph and are capable of migrating into the tissue spaces and lymphoid organs, serving thereby as a bridge between parts of the immune system.
