Natural Killer (NK) Cells

Natural Killer cells are a small population of large, non-phagocytic granular lymphocytes that play an important role in innate immunity. The major function of NK cells is to destroy malignant cells and cells infected with microorganisms. These cells are known to differentiate and mature in the bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen, tonsils, and thymus.
